Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - April - Favourite DSP

Welcome to Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.
You may have joined me from Vicki Hunter or started with me halfway
through this Blog Hop.  This month we are all focasing on our
favourite DSP from the Annual Catalogue. As soon as I saw the new catalogue
in April last year, I knew that Naturally Eclectic was going to be
MY FAVOURITE.  Loved everything about the suite.
Sad to see these designer series paper retire.
I have made so many cards and layouts with these products.
So today following on from my last blog post where I am trying to use up my scraps
from my desktop container, I pulled out all of the pieces I had already cut from
Naturally Eclectic DSP and Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies.
I used my favourite colour cardstock from 2017-2019 In Colors
Lemon Lime Twist for all my cards as it matches perfectly.
This is how I do my inside layers so that I can use the Emerald Envy
and Lemon Lime Twist layer to cut Birthday out of the scraps.

So many pretty patterns in this DSP range, I couldn't just stop at one card
The next card I used the Gemstone DSP & Diamond shape that I had already cut out
using the Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies.
I kept this card really simple...I let the DSP speak for itself.

Last BUT not least, more leftover bits from my container.
I actually had to cut a couple of leaves and petals to fill in the space.
As I have said I have used this set for so many cards and layouts
here are just a few I thought I would share.

Up next is my friend Lou Kitzleman
I wonder which retiring DSP is Lou's favourite.

So pleased that you joined me here, I would love for you to
leave me a comment in the box below and tell me which one is your favourite.
I will in turn leave you some love on your blog.

Next month at Stampin' Dreams we will be SHOWCASING

the new annual catalogue which is due out June 1
Here is the list of upcoming blogs if you want to join us on a hop.

Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop - Pastels

Welcome to Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop, pretty excited about this one...
I do love me a pretty pastel palette and Sweet Hannah May <3
You may have just joined me from
Tina Riddle's blog
as you can see we are all focusing on Pastels, so beautiful.

My layout this week is the first scrapbooking page I have done since last months
Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop....I have been sooo flat out!!!

It started out with a bunch of scraps that I have had in my scrap container,
who else has random scrap pieces in a container on their desk?

And because of the flowers in Hannah's head band I thought I would use this stencil
from Soft Saying Card Kit (which is not really a stencil).

It is an overlay that I was supposed to put over a cardfront....
BUT instead I used it as a stencil with embossing paste, which I coloured.

Love how this turned out, coloured with dauber to accent the ridges of the flowers.

I love the texture that Embossing Paste creates, it can be so easily
coloured or spritzed with our Re-Inkers.

Here is the complete layout, you have seen all the elements that went into creating
this MASTERPIECE....mostly using scraps.
I do hope you LOVE Sweet Hannah May as much as me <3

Up next is Tanya Boser from USA...I love Tanya's style of Scrapbooking
Thanks for popping on by, please be sure to Hop on to everyone's blogs.
Please leave me some LOVE in the comment box below
and I will return the favour.
Cheers Shaz

World Autism Awareness Day Blog Hop April 2nd

Welcome to Studio Shabaz - CreativeMe68 Blogspot.
Today is World Autism Awareness Day which
aims to put a spotlight on

the hurdles that people with Autism - and others living with autism - face every day.

Stampin' Up Demos through out the world are also raising awareness
through this blog hop, where we all create a card or a project

to show our support to Family and Friends who may have Autism or are a caregiver <3You may have just started hopping with me here or hopped from Tanya Boser
Tanya is very creative so I sure that her creation will amaze you.

Here is a sneak peak of 1 of my creations, I created 3 in total.

My creation was inspired by these images and our Blog hop header and Next buttons

I started my card because of the Bokeh effect in the Blog hop header.
You ask what is 'Bokeh' -
is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a camera lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light"
To create Bokeh background effect you use a variety of Monochromatic inks with a dauber
and you create circular patterns on a piece of whisper white cardstock.
I always start with the darkest colour working to the lightest colour to finish off.
Making sure that you overlap the colours as you finish each colour,
so that there are no white gaps between your circular pattern.
Now to create the foreground, you use a circle stencil with Craft White Ink,
BUT because there was a light bulb for inspiration I decided to cut my own stencil.

To create the bulb I used Watts of Occasions stamp set, and drew a slightly bigger shape.
Cut it out of the centre of cardstock use this as my stencil.

I inked up a dauber with Craft White ink, then layed down my stencil and
in a circular motion I layed down layers of white ink...dark and light shades
Continually moving the stencil over the base of bokeh card until it
is fully covered with the light bulb effect.
PLEASE NOTE - You dauber will pull up blue colour from the base
so have a slightly damp cloth so that you can wipe off the blue from the dauber
or you craft white ink will be become blue, make sure your dauber doesn't get too moist
or your Bokeh effect won't work out.

Suppose you would like to see the finished product now....
BUT before I show you, I will show you a fatal mistake
If your background is still damp and you try to emboss this is what happens :(

So then I decided to make another card, I liked the bulb so much <3

My last creation was a work in progress all day yesterday,
Ohhh I might try this,
What about this,
Embossing Folder
Wonder how it will all look together?
I cut around the Butterfly wings to make it look like they were flying...
BUT it was too boring looking with just plain cardstock under the wings.
So I created another embossed layer which I coloured with Brusho
placed that behind those wings...

ABSOLUTELY LOVE BRUSHO, you can achieve so many variations.
Here is the finished card...
and some details

and of course you have to see the inside
If you would love to support Autism financially,
please donate to our friend Shaley's walk for Jett
 Or at Autism Spectrum Aust.

I do hope that you enjoyed my cards as much as I enjoyed creating them for this Hop.
Please leave me some LOVE in the comment box below
and check out the rest of
talented artisans here and their wonderful creations.
Up next is Colleen Johnson, who I am sure will have something very unique.

My next Blog Post will show you how to create more cards
featuring Brusho and Embossing Folders.
Until next time....Enjoy the rest of your day
Cheers Shaz

Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop - March - Sketch

Welcome to Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop...
This month we have a wonderful sketch to create a Scrapbooking Layout.
We are a group of Stampin Up demonstrators from all over the world
who use Stampin' Up products only to create Classic 12"x12" pages
and Memories and More Pocket Pages.

I absolutely LOVE this sketch <3 It is very eye-catching.
Sooo is my layout (in my humble opinion).
Yesterday I had not even started my design,
BUT I woke up at stupid o'clock!!!
So no time like 4am to start on this sketch.

I don't know how you start to design a page, BUT
I mostly start with a photo or photos that I want to scrap.
This is a photo of my Brother John and his girlfriend <3
It was a colour photo BUT I didn't like it in colour,
soon with a quick edit in Photoshop it was Black n White.

Next thing I do is find a background Cardstock or
Designer Series Papers (DSP)
Black n White photos go with almost anything.
I chose Black 12"x12" Cardstock for this photo.

So I decided to use Petal Passion DSP 145589 and
Petal Passion Memories and More Card Pack 145592
I really wanted to have a play with a Sale-A-Bration set called Amazing You
which I got for FREE... YES, FREE
I will tell you how at the end of the post.

Here is another sneak peak of some of the layout...pretty isn't it?
I have seen this set used with heat embossing so I wanted to give that a go.
Not too many products can be used on black cardstock...
Craft Whisper White or Versamark Ink with Stampin' Emboss Powder
So I used both White 109131 and Silver 109131 on the black cardstock.
You will also need a Heat Tool 129056 for this product
so that the fine powder gets heat set so to a shiny finish.

Here's a tip for you, I use and Embossing Buddy 103083 to rub over my cardstock
before I stamp with ink or add embossing powders as it prevents
extra powder sticking to your project where you don't want it to.
Firstly you stamp your image onto the black card and
then you add embossing powder immediately while ink is still wet
Then heat set with a heat tool/gun...
You know that it is set when it changes from powder to a shiny finish.

Here is a quick video I found on YouTube about how to heat emboss.

Once I heat embossed all my flowers I then sat at the Dr's
and fussy cut them all out... Some of the flowers I cut off their leaves
saved them to
add for layering as this gives dimension to the layout.

I used Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folder 145656
on White Cardstock in the Bigshot to create dimension behind my photo.
I also added a very small amount of Silver Embossing Paste 145646.

Next I started to piece my layout together using scraps of
Petal Passion DSP, Embossed Cardstock and Flowers.
I used some Silver Thread between the flowers and leaves.
I used Silver Foil Sheet 132178 behind my photo.
To create depth and dimension in your floral accents
I used leftover scraps of black cardstock  folded over
underneath the flowers or leaves.
Stick that to the flowers and then your layout
Depending on how high or low you want your flowers,
add as little or as much as you want.

Finally I add the title and a few more embellishments
such as Clear Faceted Gems 144142
and Metallic Enamel Shapes 141678

Here is the finished layout, I am really happy with the way it turned out.
Just wish you could see the difference between the white and silver
embossing on the flowers...It looks so beautiful in real life.
TRUST ME, it does...

Here is a close up of the flowers, trying to show you the details.

So would you like this Amazing You Stamp set for FREE too??
